Swords, loincloths and dragons galore, what more could you want from a game?

This is Golden Axe for the Master System which is a 1989 conversion of the hit arcade game, which is one of my personal favourites. It's not exactly the same as that game which things like the multiplayer mode, Gilus Thunderhead, Tyris Flare going missing and the fifth and sixth level being merged together. Even Ax Battler has been renamed into Tarik and there's a completely different ending which is really strange.

The game plays alright, however I will say that it is probably the hardest version of Golden Axe due to the enemies being much faster and your life bar goes down a lot quicker. Even those dwarves don't stick around too long so you can often miss out on getting your magical potions.

I personally feel that the visuals could have been a little smoother, but overall it plays well and is a good scrolling beat em up, although not the best on the system.
