#942 SoulCalibur IV (X360) Hidden Characters (4/11): Yoshimitsu playthrough.
A playthrough of the hidden character Yoshimitsu in the Xbox 360 version of Namco’s SoulCalibur IV/Soul Calibur 4.
Yoshimitsu’s more grounded form returns from SoulCalibur III, along with a brand-new design and a hilariously awful voice. Some things never change, I suppose. His version of SoulCalibur gives him some fantastic boosts to attack, defence and health, but despite that (as with SCIII) I nearly always just kept to his kicks. Why? Yoshimitsu’s strikes are generally quite slow, inconsistent, and their damage output is pretty underwhelming. His kicks on the other hand have really good range, great priority, and his roundhouse kick in particular deals stellar damage! Also, his roundhouse has a good chance of knocking the opponent out of the ring, and despite it being slow is defended somewhat by that kick he does right after it. He retains his underwhelming poison breath from SCIII, and all in all just seems very similar. Over all, too gimmicky to be viable, not gimmicky enough to be fun. Like so much of this game. Perfectly fine in general, though.
Next up, angry lizard noises.
