A playthrough of the bonus character Amy in Namco’s SoulCalibur III/Soul Calibur 3.

The arcade version of this game (which came out after the original PS2 version, I might add) actually adds Amy, Li Long and Hwang as regular characters, which is nice for what it’s worth. Which isn’t much because I seriously doubt most people have actually played that version. I know I haven’t. Amy here has a generic rapier-based moveset, which is perfectly fine, but could stand to become a bit more refined. Which it will.

Indeed, keep Amy in mind, because we will be seeing her again relatively soon. She’s actually Raphael’s sister, and was supposed to be a regular character in this game but I guess they couldn’t include her in time or some such. As a result, she has the dubious honour of being introduced as a generic character before becoming a full character, which again feels pretty disrespectful on the whole. Man, I need to make a drinking game out of every time that happens. Only the Russians would survive that alcohol binge. I’ll discuss Amy more in the real video I get to make on her.

That rounds it off for SoulCalibur III. A weird, but pretty amazing game on the whole. Enjoy that while it lasts, because it’s disappointment from here on out.
