On today’s follow up crash course: Applying the Domino Field Effects to a Harlequin Vehicle, specifically the Starweaver. The holo effect can also be done on a Skyweaver and Voidweaver, or adapted for Harlequin jetbikes too. The Special effect is very versatile but becomes problematic and even tedius when putting it on the larger stuff. This tutorial goes into detail about all the problems and difficulties a minipainter will encounter when applying the domino field to the skimmers. Definitely suggesting watching the previous Harlequins video I made so you have a better understanding of how to do this.

Overall I think the effect came out great. Really helps put the Harlequins into a thematic look for their warhammer games. Not the best for tabletop wargaming due to the size of the trail, but it’s manageable for casual games. I can’t imagine these in competitive warhammer games. The iridescent flakes would flake everywhere and it’d just be a mess trying to move things beneath it. Not to mention storage and transport is a pain, but the holo suit effect is great for display purposes. It’s absolutely a gimmick but a fun looking one that’s straightforward with the help of this How To guide.

Certainly no substitute for good minipainting though. It can help add to it as shown on mine, but I wouldn’t recommend this for miniature painting competitions either. In fact it’s such a niche technique it’s really best suited for toy photography if not the display case. I’m just going to do it enough to fill my Warhammer 40000 to a combat patrol size. They were originally kill team sized but the design proved so popular I decided to add a few more for 40k compatibility. I imagine this technique can be applied to other models for light refraction designs, maybe in dungeons and dragons, infinity, or other scifi mini games.

Crass Course: Ever want to quickly learn a few things about a topic but don’t have the time to sit through long videos? Enter Crass Course. As the name implies, it’s a collection of short tutorial videos focusing on a certain topic, whether they are hobby related or video game simulation based construction. I’ll impart the knowledge I know on the topic in a somewhat roundabout way, kinda like you asked the cool guy at the store how to do something that he does frequently. As the name implies, it's complete with completely unnecessary humor and inserts to make a blend of informative and entertainment.
