A Crass Course on Varnishing during your Painting Workflow
159On today’s crash course: varnishing during painting as a quick save method to protect delicate areas. It’s a great way to keep any accidents off carefully painted areas if your painting process follows an unusual workflow. I use this method often when protecting freehand panels (and other well painted delicate areas) before getting to the trim and it’s saved me plenty of stress and anxiety. No need to worry about accidental painting mistakes with a varnish in place to shield your mini. Varnish is most often seen as the final step for Warhammer Tabletop models, but there are times when an in-process varnishing can absolutely come in handy.
Honestly curious to see some comments considering the joking about I did with this on my Instagram. People thought I really did just purposefully ruin my Warlord Titan’s freehand. Like I would ever do that. It was just a jokey way to show my confidence in the varnishing, and wind up getting enough inquiries that I thought I’d make a tutorial video about it. It’s not a full dedicated class to varnishing considering it’s my usual crass course deal, but I hope this does provide a decent insight on how to do this quick-save method for guarding your paints.
