Reaper Mini’s Power Palette analyzes paint colors, tones, and values and converts it into paint recommendations for minipainting. It’s a free tool offered on Reaper Miniatures’ website and is straightforward to use. Since it only gives results using ReaperMini MSP paint line (Core, Bones, etc.), it might not be as helpful to miniature painters who use other lines like Monument, Citadel, Vallejo, and others. A comparison between the paint lines will still need to be done after. However it still remains rather useful, especially to those who use Reaper Mini’s paints as their go to.

I tested it on several picture styles including some of my own Warhammer miniatures to make sure the colors are accurate, and they almost always are. It does have to match it to an MSP paint bottle though, so it can be off a smidge at times.

I probably went a bit too heavy on my usual humor-injection, so I’ll probably dial a bit back on comedy for future videos. It was kinda hard not to considering how straightforward the tool was. I didn’t want the mini review stretching longer than it should have. Honestly 3 minutes for a mini review already feels like a long time considering what the target is for the day, so I hope the entertainment value made up for it. Not that three minutes for a video is long or anything compared to usual minipainting guides and tutorials, but I’m trying to focus on the “Fast, fun, and friendly” branding for my channel.

I also definitely found a LUT I like so I can produce videos faster now! No more me silently complaining about how the LOG footage isn’t quite turning out as true to life as I wanted it to, so the colors will be on point from here on.

DD's Mini Reviews: Very short and to the point videos to give you a decent overview on a minipainting hobby product. A lot of unnecessary fluff is filtered out since these prioritize time over abundant and very elaborated detail. That doesn't mean I won't slip in a joke or four where I can without going on too much of a tangent. Series Disclaimer: I'm not paid or endorsed to influence my views on the products. I'm just throwing my experiences and opinions out there to help other (who are on the fence) decide if this is worth their time and money or not.
