On today’s crash course: building and painting Atmospheric Nighthaunt, or however people want to describe them. Foghaunt, Misthaunt, the Wild hunt, whatever the case, they’re simply ghosts looking like ghosts. I honestly didn’t think this really needed a minipainting tutorial, but considering how often I’m asking for a how to, it was inevitable. It’s a very easy process and the guide is only really close to five minutes because I wanted to note things that could go wrong, per se. There’s not much that can, but with such a straightforward Warhammer painting scheme, all it takes is one misstep to find a surprising amount of time wasted.

Nighthaunts are often painted in more elaborate designs for obvious reasons, but an easy monochromatic design like this still holds its own extremely well even pitted against toher beautiful age of sigmar armies. It’s honestly a head scratched how they’re still one of my top-performers on Instagram, but a ghost that looks like a ghost does the trick I guess. The mist and fog sure help, as do the blowing leaves. No doubt it’s the combination of special effects and simplicity that make them eye catching.

While this was done for Nagash and his Nighthaunt Warhammer army, this special effects mini could be very easily adapted to dungeons and dragons miniatures. I’m sure there’s plenty of cases a ghost mini would be fun in D&D, and I know dungeon masters probably want to spend as little time as possible on painting in favor of the roleplay fun. These also serve well in a diorama design, and my full on diorama performed very well in my first Armies on Parade. And as said before, they still get a lot of compliment whenever they’re brought up in miniature painting talks.

Crass Course: Ever want to quickly learn a few things about a topic but don’t have the time to sit through long videos? Enter Crass Course. As the name implies, it’s a collection of short tutorial videos focusing on a certain topic, whether they are hobby related or video game simulation based construction. I’ll impart the knowledge I know on the topic in a somewhat roundabout way, kinda like you asked the cool guy at the store how to do something that he does frequently. As the name implies, it's complete with completely unnecessary humor and inserts to make a blend of informative and entertainment.
