A review of the Most Powerful Static Grass Applicator – RTS Greenkeeper 55kV
43The RTS Greenkeeper 55kV is a powerful monster of a static grass applicator. It’s originally designed for model railroad displays and dioramas, throwing anywhere from 2mm to 12mm or 14mm grass without any problems. Even from a raised height and well above miniatures it can plant grass upright for some nice foliage bases. The more passes the better. Cleanup is still a giant mess though.
It’s expensive though. That’s a massive setback for a modelmaking tool, but it has its purpose. I can see only those who like building large warhammer armies and also want them in grasslands going after this. It’s honestly a tough sell even if I recommended it in the review. It’s a very niche product for minipainters and terrain makers, but if someone needs it the grass applicator can absolutely do the job without a problem. For basing Warhammer 40k, Age of Sigmar, Dungeons and Dragons, or just making terrain, it’s another option, albeit a limited use one.
Mini Reviews: DDBuilds’ very short and to the point videos to give you a decent overview on a minipainting hobby product. A lot of unnecessary fluff is filtered out since these prioritize time over abundant and very elaborated detail. That doesn't mean I won't slip in a joke or four where I can without going on too much of a tangent.
