A Critical Thought on Randomization

For today's critical thought, we're talking about randomization. The use of randomized or procedurally generated elements can elevate a game, but not all randomization is created equal.
There are two broad categories to look at. Micro changes that only impact things on a short scale. And Macro changes that affect generation and how the game is played. I also talked about why there is no such thing as an infinitely replayable game.
