Master of Magic is the Faithful Remake of the original, 4X magical take on old Civilization 1, way back in 1994!
Clearly inspired by the then new and popular Magic: The Gathering card game, Master of Magic has you select some combination of 5 schools of magic: Red, Blue, Green, Black, or White, and battle it out with up to 3 rivals.

Unlike Magic: The Gathering, in Master of Magic you set about building up your fantasy kingdom in a randomly generated world, choosing your starting people, along with where to construct your cities, what to build, which spells to research, and where to send your mystical and mundane armies, conquering ruins, neutral and enemy cities, and magical nodes of power (think magical lands from Magic: The Gathering), all in a bid to be the last great wizard standing.
It’s good.

The newest update Master of Magic: Scourge of the Seas, adds a new race: orc wraiths, sea resources, 4 new heroes, 2 new boss lairs, including a nasty Krakon boss and new arcane spell.
