I recon I can go out on a limb and say that this is a game that you are definitely going to be checking out this year. Or on Feb 22nd on steam to be precise. I mean depending on where in the world you come from, you might have already delved deep into Lost ark, as it's been released fully already in Korea and there's been some different levels of closed and open access in different regions.
But the good thing for me, and anyone else who comes in fresh, is that you will be able to check out lost ark on steam free and with Smilegate and Amazon behind the release, you know that it's going to be a pretty epic launch, maybe not quite as big as New World, but you get the idea, Amazon is ramping up their gaming efforts. Of course with every free game there's some packs you can buy if you want to get a little extra and these range from 20 to 130 aussie dollars. That's a fair amount of moneys for a free game I recon!
But what is Lost Ark I hear you screaming from the distance, that was you right? Well it's an action rpg game that gives you insanely cool fighting mechanics and gameplay and struck me straight away as looking something alike diablo. Indeed I read one beta review comparing it to a Korean pop diablo game. And I don't know how that works, but I think it means everything looks stylish, deadly and cool. I can deal with that. It is epic, has some astonishing looking mechanics and enemies that are just downright cool.
There's humongous looking enemies, a search for the lost ark that is definitely going to fix everything, and rumours floating about that ancient enemies and bad dudes are on the escape again. Maybe it's the fact that I'm reading the wheel of time again, but those evil creatures always seem to find a way to come back into consideration eventually. Raids, hordes, bosses and even the chance to do some pvp battles are all things that you will get the chance to be involved with and be expecting a fair amount of customisation and character choices that will give you that chance to mix things up.
It would be silly of me to mention character choices without talking about classes. 5 of them for you to work through which makes me thing there's going to be some people playing through maxing out levels and kinda, not doing anything else in their lives except playing lost ark. Not that there's anything wrong with that of course!
Warrior, Martial Artist, Gunner, Mage and Assasin are those of which you get to choose from and within each class there are sub classes for you to mix things up a bit. Each class and subclass will have their own kit of abilities which kind of gives me moba vibes within an action rpg which I can definitely get behind. I didn't know what to think when I saw Martial Artist as a class, but seeing some of the footage, yeh it looks pretty cool, and I recon I will choose this one first. The classes kind of look to play as you would expect. It's not like you haven't' seen warrior and mage before in a rpg game. But martial artist and gunner promise to mix things up for players.
I love the look of Lost Ark, love the fact it's going to be free to play, and can see myself sinking a whole lot of hours into it. Let me know what you think about lost ark in the comments!
