You HAVE to Try Arena of Kings FREE PVP Game On Steam | Review & Gameplay
Check out this Arena of Kings review and gameplay video to get a sense of whether or not this free to play pvp game on steam is worth your time. It definitely feels to me to be a game that fits more into the MMO battle crowd compared to fans of MOBA which might find it slow and limited in terms of movement.

I focussed too much on the MOBA tags for Arena of Kings, because it's clearly not what I was expecting as a pretty keen player of games like League of legends and Heroes of the Storm. Indeed this game falls more closely in line with something that online rpg players would be accustomed too. So it's a pretty steep learning curve for those more used to movement and attack mechanics, as opposed to lots of healing and managing 8 different spells at once.
That's a pretty rambling intensive introduction, but is Arena of Kings, free to play on steam, worth having a crack. Check out this impressions review and let me know what you think about the game. If you are in the market for a different free online game, stay until the end and I'll link you to another game I've found this week.
So arena of Kings is most definitely in early access mode, and you quickly find there's a few things that will be surely added along the way, but it is a game you can jump in very quickly too, and if you're lucky with queue wait times, learn the ropes whilst getting your ass handed to you in this pvp 3v3 battle system.
Create your character by choosing class and name, and then queue up or play with friends if you have them, in what can only be described as a battle to the death. The great aspect of low level play here, is it's essentially 3 people running around with not much idea of what's going on, and any coordination will quickly lead to your doom.
Another huge difference between Arena of Kings and other Moba games is that you're not on an even playing level here. You get the chance to retrieve items and customise your spells as you gain access to new levels and possibilities by playing the game. The description says that this game is ls the chance to experience mmorpg style combat without the grind, and whilst i get what they're saying, i feel like there's going to be a fair amount of grinding battles to get your items and spells the way that you would want them to be.
I found the movement and spell system pretty slow, although that could well be because I'm used to league, and healing is really important in this game, so I'm smashing out my healer build now so I can learn the ropes a bit more, and get my chance to complain about the wasteful dps just running away from me.
All in all it's a pretty steep learning curve, with lots of people complaining about queue times, but i can see the unique aspects of it and am willing to give it more a of a try. let me know how you're finding arena of kings in the comments below.
