A Plague Tale: Innocence | Knee-Jerk Impressions | Pure Story, Pleasantly Small Amount of Filler
Some general first impressions for the stealth adventure game A Plague Tale: Innocence, from Asobo Studio and Focus Home Interactive. In this game you play Amicia, a young French aristocrat of the 14th Century whose family--blamed for the outbreak of a deadly, perhaps supernatural plague--has fallen to ruin, sending Amicia and her younger brother, Hugo, on the run.
My major takeaway after having played only the introductory chapters is that this is a game that follows a tight storyline, introducing little "filler" content along the way. It's very straightforward, but I anticipate that once I properly enter the midgame, the range of mechanics and diversions will expand, though on the latter, I hope that there aren't too many, because I'm currently enjoying the main storyline.
