A Plague Tale: Innocence (Xbox One X) - Gameplay
Welcome to Game Play. A series, of sorts, where I check out various video games and share my immediate experiences with you.
Today we're taking a look at A Plague Tale: Innocence on the Xbox One X.
It's quite an amazing game and I'm genuinely enjoying myself. The characters come off as real and authentic and the world setting is believable and immersive. You play as the young Amicia who's both protecting and guiding her younger brother, Hugo, through a brutal world full of dangers and horrors.
The game focuses on stealth, setting and storytelling to keep the player engaged and so far it's doing a very nice job at that. Although simple in nature, especially when compared to other stealth-giants such as Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell, A Plague Tale: Innocence manages to create a similar feeling considering how you're not able to effectively fight back or engage the enemy if you're spotted. This happened to me and I was absolutely unable to prevent what was coming. In effect, you truly feel the tension when you're moving from cover to cover despite some of the instances with the guards being somewhat predictable.
All in all, I'm really enjoying this game and I can't wait to get even further in.
The game was recorded directly on the console to an external HDD. No postwork has been done.
