Welcome to Game Play. A series, of sorts, where I check out various video games and share my immediate experiences with you.

Today we're taking a look at Space Hulk: Deathwing Enhanced Edition for the Playstation 4 Pro.

Although I consider myself a fan of the Warhammer 40K universe, I won't claim to have extensive knowledge about it. However, I do find the universe and setting quite interesting. The continous war between the various factions, races and species is fascinating, and the imagery is both intriguing and disturbing at the same time.

I stumbled upon this game on the Playstation Store and decided to give it a try.

It's certainly not the greatest game out there, and I have played much better games in the Warhammer 40K universe, but I definitely got an intense experience fighting off the Xenos. The space hulk itself is dark and foreboding with a wide range of scenery from tight and narrow hallways to grand open halls.

Fighting alongside you is a squad of two other members, that I believe can be player controlled. In my case they were controlled by the game's AI, and they were competent at both navigating the scenery and fighting the enemies. The Xenos are relentless and comes in quite massive waves, so it's definitely a good thing to not fighting alone.

The graphical performance of the game is less than stellar with the framerate occasionally taking a dive. Also, I never got the feeling of trembling the ground in a massive Terminator armor. Walking and running in the game feels a bit too lightweight, where I would have prefered a heavier sensation.

All in all, Space Hulk: Deathwing Enhanced Edition is an intense FPS with loads of action, and I can recommend it to any fan of the universe and even non-fans who are out looking for a different FPS.

The game was recorded on the console itself and ported to an external HDD. No postwork has been done.
