The aircraft that will replace the Hercules is getting closer to entering service.

After years of delay and an overrun in costs, the A400 Atlas will take to the skies next year.

The RAF will receive its first A400 Atlas next September, with the entire fleet scheduled to be in place when the Hercules goes out of service in 2022.
