Please note that this is the Japanese version of Ace Combat 3 with a fan translation patch produced by Project Nemo and not the official Western release. The animated scenes, the voice acting, the characters, the story, missions and so on were totally gutted for the official Western release due to lack of funding from Namco. The Japanese version is a completely different and far superior game compared to the official Western release.

There are a few incidental voice overs during gameplay that are not translated. Things like "Thank goodness" after downing an enemy plane as an example.

There are five story routes and I will be showing them all. Afterward, I will be showing the official Western version in full so you can see just how gutted it is.

As usual for PS1 games, I'm using Vulkan rendering along with PGXP. Beetle accurately reproduces slowdowns.
Note that this is segmented and there are edits.

The Japanese version has expert controls by default and I played on normal difficultly.

Notes
There's no slider for voice volume.

I don't know how well it will come across in video but the physics are a bit different compared to Ace Combat 1 and 2.

Allies are nearly useless.

For the UPEO route, you must do the following in your playthrough:
During Paper Tiger, you must not follow Dision.
During Scylla and Charybdis, you must shoot down the R-505U.

There are some optional missions triggered by your actions or performance during missions. Since I went for A rank on every mission, these missions aren't shown.
