I played it on the MiSTer FPGA on the Neo Geo core in the past and thought I should give the modern collection re-release a try. QUByte Interactive was nice enough to accept my key request.
So what is new to this release:
It has a nice quality of life features in this package, for starters,
it's the first official (as in not Fightcade) release to support the following:
Training mode featuring
input reader,
damage, stun calculations,
record/playback mode and hitbox viewer.
The game Breakers Revenge also has a new 3v3 mode in a style reminiscent to SNK's The King of Fighters series.
And unless I'm mistaken, VS mode does allow the player to fight against a CPU and not another human as player 2.
All of these are great but the current release (at least for Switch, untested on other platforms) has a severe audio desync bug which is something to do with transitioning from a Unity Engine menu to in-game. There is a workaround if it does happen by going to stage select and that should stop the in-game audio desync.
