ADG Episode 212 - Quest for Glory II
Seems the devs were thinking ahead with these games... :o
Today on Ancient DOS Games Gemini's taking a look at Quest for Glory II: Trial by Fire, a sequel to the original Quest for Glory produced by Sierra On-Line and released in 1990, later remade by AGD Interactive with all new graphics in 2008.
This video focuses on the original Sierra release and interestingly enough, despite this game technically being more linear than its predecessor, it somehow manages to feel more freeform and is just a better experience overall with plenty of stuff to do and plenty of things to talk to the NPCs about. Combat's a little better too... still not perfect, but a step above the first game for sure.

Additional Information and Corrections:
* To purchase the first five Quest for Glory games together on GOG, follow this link: https://www.gog.com/game/quest_for_glory/?pp=91dfde1d6e005e422f64a59776234f1f4c80b5e4
* To download the freeware remake, follow this link instead: http://www.agdinteractive.com/games/qfg2/homepage/homepage.html
* I've been informed that character files from any of the first QfG games can be imported into either of the second QfG games! It's just save files which don't translate properly between different versions of the same games. :B
* I never did properly talk about the stats did I? There's a bunch of them but every stat pretty much affects just one or two pertinent details as to how your character performs. Just like in the original game as well, if you create a new character and want to give them a skill they wouldn't normally have, the cost for the first 5 points in that skill is 15 instead of 5.
