Continuing our look back at Windows sequels to DOS games we have our only entry of the four games we're gonna look at which lacks any hardware accelerated graphics whatsoever: EarthSiege 2. Despite being a relatively early game for Windows 95 it's incredibly faithful to the original EarthSiege but just plain BETTER in every single way! It's also relatively easy to get working on modern systems, though there's a few tricks to it and we'll go over every step necessary towards the end of the video!

Additional Information and Corrections:

* Here's a link to the Tribes Universe website where you can grab EarthSiege 2 from along with many of the other games in the series! http://www.tribesuniverse.com

* Despite all of the improvements, another minor disappointment I have is that the particle beam weapons no longer show up as blue and end up looking just like the red lasers. Not quite sure why they did this when so much of the engine remained unchanged.

* Even the game knows some of the equipment is useless. When you fight enemy Cybrids and recover weapons, the missile pods are ALWAYS the 10x versions. The 6x and 8x pods are never dropped because why would you ever use them? :P

* I forgot to mention or show that there's lots of small FMV sequences where your C.O. tells you what's going on, gives you basic mission instructions, congratulates you on your mission, or berates you for failing your mission. The actor playing these segments does an amazing job and it really does help add to the immersion factor!
