Isn't 'Final Zone' usually used to refer to a game's final stage? The Japanese name for this game is FZ Senki Axis, so this was probably an unimaginative naming decision (there was also a Final Zone II released on TurboGrafx-16 CD, which confusingly is this game's predecessor, not sequel).

But here's an interesting little isometric mech game in which you must roam each stage looking for the specific enemies you are told to destroy in the introduction to each stage. There are also numerous weapons you can equip in the menu you can bring up by pressing the C button, although the normal weapons usually are enough most of the time.

It's technically a bit of a mess, with jerky movement all over the place and various sound glitches (including one heard for quite a long time for this video which I only stop by pausing the game). However, I find this game enjoyable enough, and I'd say it's worth playing, particularly if you have Renovation Collection 1 on Evercade which includes this game.
