Alice: Madness Returns Part 48: 2 Spooky 4 Me
0So, after that rather bizarre mini game, we find ourselves in a completely new area (I think the head is supposed to be us because I’m not sure how else we ended up here; maybe that was us waking up from a hallucination and this is really what the doll world looks like. I don’t think I have enough Tin Foil to dig this deep into a conspiracy). This haunted house of sorts has lots of invisible platforms, large and pointy spikes that murder you in a single touch (which can be quite frustrating with some of the puzzles, as well as some of the more, dare I say, usual things you might expect within Wonderland. Not much else to say except for the fact that this level is more unnerving than most of the ones we’ve seen so far. I will say that this game does a very good job at showing some rather gruesome and morbid levels so, well done in that department I guess. You get my badge of approval, for whatever that is worth. Still not sure this level is creepier than the later section of the Red Queen lair (the part with the stomach acid and eyeballs in the stomach etc.) but it does have an odd feeling to it, like something isn’t quite right (Maybe the giant spikes of death or the ruin trying to murder you, Kappa).
