So, after collecting the Clockwork Bombs, we continue our little adventure through Hatter’s Domain in search for our old Friend. Before we head into spoiler territory, I do want to talk about the bombs that we collected since I didn’t in the previous video. They’re really fun to just throw out and explode but, for the most part, they are going to be used as weights within the game/items to be used on pressure plates to activate something while we use what it might activate. They also are supposed to damage groups of enemies but they don’t seem to impactful/do a lot of damage which is shame because that means that I probably won’t use them for combat; they seem more orientated at opening pathways or being used as counterweights. Now, heading off into Spoiler territory (If you don’t wish to be spoiled, then you show stop reading at this point), we get introduced to another neat little mechanic that is featured in most Hack-and-Slash games which is you “Fury” mode or, as the call it in this game, “Hysteria”. For those unfamiliar with this sort of mechanic, it typically makes the player’s attacks stronger and allows them to either takes no damage or, at the very least, less damage than per usual (in this case, it seems we are invulnerable during this stage). I think most games also allow the player to gain life back either by increasing the amount of health pick-ups or by increasing the amount of health you get when you kill an enemy (in this game, enemies drop flowers which is your health while other games like God of War have you absorb green energy from the enemy so I don’t know If I can consider that a Health pick-up). I hope I don’t have to use this feature anymore, mostly because there is an achievement for not doing so, but it would mean that I’m dying horribly and I need a way out.
