This was originally a YT short I posted almost a year ago, but I’m reuploading it as a regular YT video for a variety of reasons. I’m keeping the original short up (if YT lets me), so if you want to read my original thoughts about making this animation, check out that Short’s description!
As for the reasons for reuploading, there are a couple. For starters I think the amount of effort I put into this vid earns it a bit more posterity than what a Short can provide. Shorts are a bit ephemeral by nature, meaning once one falls off YT’s radar it can be hard to find! So hopefully this alleviates that.
Another reason is that this animation did really well on my other socials, so I think YT’s algorithm just had trouble finding the right folks to serve it to. It was my 1st non-Splatoon short which probably confused it, also Short uploads didn’t notify subscribers back then, ALSO back then you had no control over the thumbnail so it was stuck on that last group shot which is too busy to be a good thumbnail. Like everything was stacked against it. Absolute nightmare format. Never again, if I can help it. Lol.
Contrast to regular YT videos, where someone who might be interested in something like this can just click on it themselves! Rather than wait for a feed to TELL them they might like it & hock it up ^^; I do hope this comes across as me just trying to make it easier for these doggos to get in front of eyes that’d genuinely enjoy them, & not “playing the numbers game” or anything like that. I’ll be six feet under before I judge my art solely on its ability to generate views/revenue/whatever 😣
