Someone suggested in the comments that the three disk version is probably the cracked version that was made intentionally unplayable to thwart piracy. This theory makes a lot of sense and is backed up by the CPC Wiki. I'm going to leave my video up rather than delete it but I'm also going to resume my search for a working copy of this game so I can give it a fair review.

More seriously, this project was a nightmare from start to finish. The load times in this game are so ridiculous, and you have to constantly switch between the three disks. There was quite a bit of input lag with the controls (probably an emulator issue). Several times the game crashed on me completely (also possibly an emulator issue but I'm not sure). I somehow managed to beat this game not once but twice, but I felt no victory in it. I just felt tired and depressed. The first time I played, the footage failed to record. The second time, I successfully recorded it but the framerate was a hot mess and I don't know why. I highly recommend playing the video at 1.5x playback speed or more. There's no reason you should have to suffer the same agony I did playing this game.

I apologize but I am done with this version of the game, and I am not going to attempt another recording. I didn't even want to upload this but I feel obligated to in order to achieve a sense of completion. Hopefully the ZX Spectrum port is better.

(Also, if anyone who has actually played this version of the game on the actual hardware, please let me know in the comments if the real version of the game was this unbearable! I'd like to know! Merci beaucoup!)
