This is the first ZX Spectrum game I've ever played, and it was never even officially published! In terms of the game itself, I am simultaneously impressed and disappointed. It was a thousand times more playable than the cracked Amstrad port, but I was still disappointed in the jousting and swordplay mini games. Still, I have a lot of appreciation for the developers who acknowledged the limitations of the hardware and still managed to make a decent game of it.

Unfortunately, I decided to mess around with the audio settings mid-recording and nearly all of the sound of the game is inaudible. Fortunately, you're not missing much. The sound effects are sparse but not annoying, and the music is surprisingly good but super quiet.

I hope you enjoy what I believe will be the last play through of the original retro run of Defender of the Crown (1986 - 1989). I am working on one last video summing up what I've learned over the course of this project but it might take me some time to complete as I am going to be capturing new footage of the Amiga version and the eight ports I've previously covered.
