You may have noticed the new Minecraft launcher appear when Minecraft 1.14.3 came out. This is because this launcher debuted with the Minecraft 1.14.3 version. However, it isn't just for Minecraft 1.14.3. You can play any version of Minecraft ever released in the new launcher. From alpha and beta versions of Minecraft to Minecraft 1.8 to the latest Minecraft snapshots it can all be played in this new launcher.
To add versions, just click on the 'versions' option in the menu bar at the top of the launcher. Then, click the '+ NEW' button. Here you will find a version drop down that allows you to choose from all of the versions of Minecraft ever released. After you have saved the version, you can now click Play right from the versions tab. This is a great addition to the launcher.
You can also change versions on the main page of the new Minecraft launcher by clicking the drop-down box to the bottom left of the play button.
What about adding other accounts and ALTs to the new Minecraft Launcher though? To do this, click the top left drop down that says your username. Here, you'll see a 'View Accounts' button. Click that, and you will be able to sign into your ALTs. Now, to switch between your Minecraft accounts, just click that top left drop down. You'll see all of your accounts usernames. To pick one just click the one you want.
