About this video: In this video, I go over how to make a Minecraft 1.14.4 server on PC. This will allow you to play Minecraft with friends in 1.14.4 without using realms. This is the best way to make a Minecraft server in 1.14.4, and I show you everything. Once you have finished this video, you really will know every step of creating a Minecraft server in 1.14.4, so let's go ahead and jump right on into how you can setup a Minecraft 1.14.4 server!
First and foremost, we need to download the server files. Luckily, you can download the Minecraft server files for 1.14.4 from the link the description above directly from Mojang. Just click the 'minecraft_server.1.14.4.jar' on the download page. This will then automatically download the 'server.jar' for Minecraft. You will need to keep the file on Google Chrome and save it on Mozilla Firefox!
After you have the 'server.jar' file downloaded, create a new folder on your desktop. You can name it 'Minecraft 1.14.4 Server'. Then, take the server file you downloaded and drag and drop it into this folder. Open the folder, right-click and select 'New' and then click 'Text Document'. This will create a new Notepad document. Open this document, and copy the code from above where it mentions RAM. The more RAM your server has the more players it can handle. I would recommend at least 2GB of RAM for a 1.14.4 server.
Once you have that code in your text document, click 'file' and then, 'save as'. Name this file 'run.bat', and be sure to save it as 'all files'. Once it is saved, double click on your new 'run.bat' file. This will then create some files in your Minecraft server folder, but your start-up will fail. You will now have an 'eula.txt' file though. Open the EULA file with notepad, go to the EULA link, and if you agree with it, change ‘EULA=false’ too ‘EULA=true’. Save this document and close it. Now, double click on your 'run.bat' file again, and your Minecraft 1.14.4 server will open up.
At this point, you know how to make a Minecraft 1.14.4 server, but how do you play Minecraft 1.14.4 with your friends on this server? Well, for that, you will need to port forward. First, you need to login to your router. Do this by opening command prompt and typing in 'ipconfig'. Then, take your default gateway, and type that in like a website in your web browser. Login to your router with the password from the article above, and forward port '25565' on both the UDP and TCP protcols. Once you have done that, get your public IP address, type that into #MinecraftMultiplayer and join your server!
At this point,t, you now know how to make a Minecraft server in order to play #Minecraft with your friends. Congratulations!
