About this video: If you're looking for a video on how you can make a Farming Valley server in Minecraft, this is the video for you! I show you exactly how to start your own server with the Farming Valley modpack. We go over every step from downloading the Farming Valley server files to installing the Twitch app and getting the Farming Valley modpack to then getting your server setup and running for the first time. It is all covered in-depth in this video. Thus, without any further delay, let's go ahead and learn how to make a Farming Valley server in Minecraft.
First things first, we will need to download the Farming Valley server files. You can find the Farming Valley server files linked in the description above. You can download them from the right-hand side of the modpack's page. You will also need to download the Twitch app as you will need to play Farming Valley through the Twitch app to join your Farming Valley server. You can find the Twitch App download link in the description above.
Once you have the server files and the Twitch App downloaded, let's start with the server files. Create a folder on your desktop and extract the server files into in. Then, open the EULA.txt file, and change 'EULA=false' to 'EULA=true'. Then, double click on the 'runserver.bat' file. This will start your server right on up for the first time. Since it is a modded server, Farming Valley servers will take a while to start.
While the server is starting, double click on the Twitch app and install it just like any other program. It will open when you are done. Login to the Twitch app, click the 'mods' tab in the menu bar, and then click 'Minecraft'. Install Minecraft, click 'browse all modpacks', and then, search for 'Farming Valley'. Click the purple install button on it, wait for install, and then click the purple 'Play' button. You now have Farming Valley installed for your server.
Once your server is started, you can instantly stop it. You will need to port forward in order to allow your friends to join your Farming Valley server. We have an in-depth guide on port forwarding on all of the most popular routers currently on the market linked above. We also have a resource on logging into your router linked above as you will need to login to your router to port forward.
When port forwarding, just make sure you are port forwarding port '25565' on the TCP and UDP protocol for your local IPv4 address. Once you have port forwarded, get your public IP, type that into the multiplayer, and click join. You will now join right on into your very own Farming Valley Minecraft server!
