Thus, let's go ahead and setup a new version of Minecraft! First and foremost, click the 'Installations' tab in the top of the new Minecraft Launcher. Once you are there, click the '+ New...' button. This just under the Play tab on the menu bar. This will open up the Minecraft installation setup.
First off, enter the name of the Minecraft version you want. This can be anything, but just to keep things organized, I would recommend making in the version of Minecraft you are setting up. After, that we need to select our version. To do this, click the drop-down box under where it says 'Version'.
Here, you will select the version you want to play. For example, if you want to download Minecraft 1.8, select Minecraft 1.8. If you want to download Minecraft 1.14.3, select Minecraft 1.14.3. No matter what version you are looking to download, you can do it here.
You can also set your resolution, and change the amount of RAM dedicated to Minecraft by clicking 'more options'. No, just click 'Create'. At this point, you will need to click the 'Play' button in the menu and select the version you created from the menu next to the play button at the bottom of the screen. Be sure to select the version you created.
Once the version you download is select, click play. At this point Minecraft will open up with 1.14.3 or any other version of Minecraft you want, like 1.8, installed!
