ANTHEM NEWS! Will It Have A FIRST PERSON OPTION?? New Job Listings At Bioware Strongly Suggest So
So a lot of people have been talking about how one main reason they prefer games like Destiny over Warframe and The Division, is because of Destiny simply being an FPS game and not third person. Well It seems Bioware has taken notice and wants to try and reach as many people as possible with Anthem by having a first and third person option.

Well freelancers, I’ve got some interesting news to talk about today involving Anthem! While the game has just recently delayed till 2019, along with news spreading, that Bioware would more or less be putting as many resources, and staff towards the project as possible, it seems that Bioware and EA still need more manpower, and are ramping up development even more, to make sure they don’t miss the Quarter one 2019 deadline, that they’ve set for themselves. On twitter they posted six new job positions that they were looking to fill:
Bioware is seeking new blood for the job positions, of Gameplay Programmer, Technical Artist, Environment Artist, Lead Cinematic Tools Programmer, Sr. Level Designer, and Principal Gameplay Designer.
But what’s interesting about this news, is that the description of one of the positions hints and suggest that Anthem may include the ability to play in first person. This was spotted on the Principal Game Designer listing, specifically for Anthem, where it asked applicants to have
"exceptional hands-on experience with game mechanics in the 1st and 3rd person shooter space."
This is not an official announcement confirmation, but it's hard to argue against that word choice, and with the jobs being only for Anthem, I think Bioware may be planning, on having this be an option for players to choose in the game, and honestly if this is true, this is a brilliant move by Bioware. While I have thoroughly enjoyed all of bioware’s previous works in third person, I have also really liked the ability to pick between third and first person in RPG games, such as the fallout games, and Grand theft auto v.
Also I have seen a lot of comments from fans and consumers, voicing their dislike of third person gameplay over first person, so by allowing the game to have both options, they can affectively attract both fans from destiny, and fans from the division and waframe, at least in terms of gameplay fov.
Moreover, it was leaked earlier in the year, that Anthem would possibly have VR in the game, so by having a first person option in the game, this makes the possibility of VR even more likely.
Now I am all for having both a first person option and third person option, as in third person I like the FOV considerably more, and it allows you to appreciate the armor and customization on your character. But in first person, the game can be much more immersive, and it can most certainly make aiming on console a lot easier.
So personally, I’m pretty excited about this addition to the game, and I think from a business perspective, this is also ingenious, as it can greatly expand Bioware and EA’s reach for potential consumers. But what do you all think? How would you feel about a 1st person in anthem?
