Anvil of Dawn stand sichtbar ebenso wie die Ravenloft und Menzoberranzan Spiele von SSI unter der künstlerischen Leitung von Jane Yeager und Frank Schurter. Außerdem war das Spiel eines der ersten PC Rollenspiele mit einer durchgehenden Sprachausgabe.

Great VGA Roleplaying Game of the the Developers of (Heroes of) Might and Magic New World Computing from 1995.It combines the 3D Dungeon and Riddle System from Dungeon Master and the direct Solo Melee and Character System from the Elder Scrolls Series.
Anvil of Dawn was also under the same Art Directors from the SSI Games of Ravenloft and Menzoberranzan, Jane Yeager and Frank Schurter.It was also one of the first PC Roleplaying Games that has a complete Speech output.
