AR Business Card App Review - Developed by Panther Studio
9AR Business Card is what the name of the app suggests, it allows you to see how the company's business card look using augmented reality. To make the "magic" work, you'll need to either use a screenshot or print the marker PD page and point the app towards the market so it can pick it up.
Once the app recognizes the two business cards, it places virtual content that is assigned precisely to where the market is located.
Both cards have clickable icons that lead to different websites. The top card has a slight animation, whether the bottom business card has a nice 3D model of a panther sitting on top of the card itself.
This is a very nice demonstration that shows how you can use augmented reality to enhance the use of business cards, by injecting interaction and information that extend the card's functionality compared to its standard physical counterpart.
In the future, I also see the option to have some personalized content that is based on who you received a specific card and this can be implemented on the app side by offering different functionalities, including maybe access to a restricted area on a website or app based on user login details with the app, etc.
Of course the customization possibilities are endless because they carry applicative functionality so everything that you can use in a standard app can be applied here, but even more, when you add augmented reality-based features that can further enhance and improve the viewing and interaction experience and also make the card more useful for people who receive it.,.
