I take a look at taming the Bronto in Ark: Survival Evolved for PC.

You will see from this video that choosing a location to knock out a large creature is definitely optimal.

Technique: Use Tranq arrows to knock it unconscious, many are needed depending on the level of the Bronto you are taming.

Tame time is roughly a few hours or so depending on the berries you use and the creature level (It's favourite Kibble, or purple berries makes it faster). Use Narcotics to keep torpor levels high, you will need probably 300 - 600 Narcotics to do it.
