This is a very simple glimpse at something very special and complex ...

This is the *true* ultimate of ArmA 3 control configurations. The ones available to download & use on Steam Community are just poo 💩 compared to this one (sorry "Armagherd" and others, but that's big ol' facts)! Almost 2 years of work, on/off, has been put into making this config ... learning everything about how the Steam Controller works and how it maps into ArmA and other games, experimenting, programming, fine-tuning and polishing to perfection.

This config does a lot of unique things which others have never even imagined doing. So many unique things, in fact, I can't even list them all. Most config makers just mapped this to that, assigned it some button or another (often based on past experience with console games like Call of Duty) and then started playing with it and called it "good enough" ... and some of them claimed theirs was "ultimate" merely because they mapped a lot of buttons. Instead, I thought about how can I make this config a true, competitive weapon to wield against other players using an expensive gaming mouse and keyboard, and how can I make it feel even more realistic and immersive for the player, so that you really feel like you're physically running, shooting, driving, flying and fully engaging in the ArmA 3 world ...

Rather than trying to simply map a bunch of buttons and say "It does it all", I've actually focused purely on the most critical and important things, first and foremost, and looked for every possible way to trim away the fat and leave only the meat ... after you practice with this config and learn to use it, you won't even want to play ArmA by mouse and keyboard anymore!

One such example is the act of holding one's breath to stabilize a rifle for an accurate shot before pulling the trigger and firing. Most control schemes make you press some button to do this before you actually pull the trigger, but what does a real shooter do? As he begins to pull the trigger he takes in a breath, holds it and makes a slow, smooth and deliberate trigger pull and let's the trigger "snap" and fire the weapon just as he's ready and on target. So, my control scheme knows the difference between a quick suppressive "hip shot" and a deliberate and precisely aimed shot! If you snap the trigger quickly, the gun just fires ... but if you slowly squeeze down on the trigger until it snaps and fires, your avatar in ArmA 3 automatically holds his breath and stabilizes his weapon as the gyroscopic and trackpad controls switch to a more precise setting for this sort of precision aiming. While in this "precision state", the gyroscopic controls are making fine adjustments to your aim, and "rolling" the invisible trackball (thumb swiping the pad) will spin your muzzle around quickly to switch targets or follow a moving target. The result is smoother and more intuitive shooting and improved marksmanship! You really feel like you're firing a rifle!

There are so many other awesome features it would turn this description into even more of an internet ebook. But I'll mention in passing how simply squeezing the grip lets your head swivel and look around freely as you walk/run or point your weapon in any other direction ... the left thumbpad can switch modes to become a scope zeroing tool for elevation & windage ... all CBA & ACE3 realism mod interactions are supported in the primary "infantry mode" ... you can toggle walking/running so you don't have to keep pressure on the stick, toggle combat pace / jogging with a click, it even automatically sprints when you move the stick fast to get out of the way of danger!

I'm not fully finished with this, and perhaps never will be truly satisfied, but I describe the current experience as absolutely AMAZING and addictively fun. This is how ArmA 3 is supposed to be played! I'm hoping I will soon be ready to release a more polished version on Steam Community.
