[All Stages and No UFO Shortcuts]

An interesting deviation from the previous "airplane" intermissions, it's most likely that this can be missed easily, because it certainly hasn't changed for a majority of the game (this is the ONLY different "airplane" intermission), which most players would most likely skip by pressing any button.

This is the point where stages become much more frustrating, you really need to take your time to traverse stages because precision and accuracy really count now. There are also more ice block appearances as opposed to earlier worlds. Oh yes, if at this point you still forgot that you can bounce on spikes, you will NEVER be able to pass this world or the game for that matter. The raccoon that moves off-screen at 2:48 is every bit as cheap as the damn bat on top of the tall ladder in World 4, San Francisco, you can die in an instant if you are not rolled up while jumping; AND just like that damn particular bat, there are two stages with this cheap raccoon.

The stage backgrounds REALLLLLLLY messes with your mind, at 11:41, there APPEARS to be a flat surface of grass, but in reality, if you were fooled into standing there, you would be falling right down into the deep pit down there. I have no further comments, but this is certainly something the game developers could've fixed, unless they were intentionally trying to mess with your head. The damn gator caught me off guard and swallowed Billy the Shell at 10:05. I don't know exactly when he turns around or if he ever does on his own without provocation.

The oriental background music, although refreshing to hear something new after more than half the game with repetitive music tracks, sounds... pretty... boring to be honest, makes the frustrating levels more... frustrating than they should be.

Unlike the battle with Evil Fox McCloud, the bosses from this point on, start employing battle techniques such as the this world's Hippo boss that can burrow underground and slide around on the stage rather than just standing there trying to shoot you like the previous bosses. One thing that I didn't count on was that EVEN though he was burrowed, he can still hit you, fortunately future games and even games before don't allow burrowed enemies to cheap strike you like this.
