I assembled another vintage sound card. This time it's a clone of the Creative Game Blaster (aka Creative Music System) card, featuring two Philips SAA1099 synth chips for stereo sound. The card preceded the SoundBlaster and was pretty much a failure, losing out to AdLib in the beginning. However it was heavily pushed for a while by Sierra and had support in many of their games. The synth had 12 stereo channels, due to the two ICs, which was arguably better than the AdLib's 9 or 11 mono channels. However, since it could only produce square wave sounds, the overall sound quality of the instruments was much more limited.
