I gave Ms root42 a vintage video game for christmas. One that she used to play in her childhood. Turns out these things are now very expensive. I found a reasonably cheap one on eBay and gifted it to her. After the first set of batteries were depleted, they were exchanged, but the polarity of at least two of the four batteries was wrong. Curiously the game ran for a minute or so, after which the screen turned dark and magic smoke came out of the side of the game. Let's take it apart and try to repair it...
