Atari 8-Bit Game Play, Laser Hawk
5In which I play "Laser Hawk", published in 1986 by Red Rat Software. This is a decent game with only a couple of minor quibbles that take away from the enjoyment. Graphics are nice...chunky, but nice! Sound effects are quite good. Controls are solid and straightforward. The quibbles I mentioned have to do with collision detection. Sometimes collisions are not detected, and in a game that is fast and frenetic, like this one, that means a loss of player as often as not.
From a company that was a bit hit-and-miss, this is a solid game that's fun to play.
