Hello everyone and welcome to Music Theory with GUIM. In this installment we begin our journey into the Augmented 6th, which is one of my favorite theories. Unfortunately, it's a theory that is saved for "advanced studies" and... even worse... is put in such a TINY box!

So! In this series we're going to thoroughly cover the "basics" of this theory and then explore. This means the first set of episodes will cover things like construction, resolution, etc. This way you learn the expected knowledge of the Augmented 6th (that most textbooks use) AND you have a solid foundation for looking at this theory in more explorative manners!!

Though we may begin conventionally, we certainly are bound for unconventional terrain. That said, all theory that we use will be MUSICAL and will almost always be found in COMPOSITIONS.

I hope you enjoy this installment and all future installments as well! If you happen to have you any thoughts/questions, leave a comment below! If you want to keep up with the content, then be certain to subscribe!

And, of course, thank you to the patrons that are currently sponsoring me! It means such a great deal to me that you value my insight enough to support future endeavors. I hope this path is as enlightening for you as it is for me!
