Tanks are awesome, and a game named Awesome Tanks must obviously be awesome as well. What's more awesome than that? A game named Awesome Tanks 2. But enough raving, let's get to the game.

Remember that old game you used to play on your NES? Where you controlled a tank and blasted apart other tanks and tried to destroy their base while protecting your own? Well, this game is like that, but with more goodies. You can buy new weapons, upgrade current ones, lay mines, and in general have an explosive good time. You start the game off with, let's be honest, a pretty feeble little tank. Your armor is pathetic, and a few good hits will take you down. You move slowly, and your turret doesn't swivel around very fast. Worse, your line of sight is terrible, and you can only see a few tiles away so you almost have no idea what you're shooting at. It gets better though, as you will soon have enough cash to upgrade these in addition to getting better weaponry.

Armor is certainly the most expensive to upgrade, but having better armor means you can actually finish certain levels which would otherwise destroy you with a single well-placed rocket launcher blast. Improved visibility is cheaper by far, and while you can certainly go through the game with limited view, it's a good idea to get this eventually so you can plan ahead. On the other hand, you can go without it for extra challenge. Improved turret speed is essential, as while early levels are fairly easy, the sheer number of baddies coming at you later makes it necessary that you be able to react quickly and aim in the right direction as soon as you see another tank. If you want to eschew the use of armor, you can instead pour all your money into movement speed and instead dodge everything. It's still advisable to get some armor at least, because no matter how good you are, you're eventually going to get hit. Then again, like before, if you want a challenge, then go for it.

Your starting minigun is more then enough for the first few levels, especially if you upgrade it. Each weapon has five upgrades, and what those upgrades do depends on the weapon. In the case of the minigun, it's relatively cheap to get it all the way to the fifth upgrade early on, and with unlimited ammo, it's going to be one of your main weapons. When upgraded to the max, you'll be able to shoot rather rapidly, quickly dispatching enemies. Early weapons that you'll be able to get are the shotgun and the ricochet. Of the two, the ricochet is definitely harder to use, but it can be useful for taking out enemies out of your line of sight. Later on, you'll get one of my personal favorites, the cannon which can easily take out weaker enemies with a single blast and do some fairly substantial damage to tougher ones once upgraded.

With the sheer number of upgrades, weapons, and bonuses available to you, Awesome Tanks 2 will surely keep you entertained for hours, so go on and give it a shot now!
