Smash Palace Game
There's a reason why "smash" is such an awesome word. It evokes feelings of utter destruction, rage, venting out all of one's anger in a meaningless barrage of wanton violence. Granted, it may not be quite a healthy word, but it sure is fun. And that's exactly what Smash Palace gives you.
The entire game revolves around driving your car (or truck, or whatever you manage to purchase) around a circular arena attempting to smash other cars into tiny crumpled pieces of metal. Sure, the concept has been done many times before, but who can honestly say that they don't enjoy these games? As demolition derby games go, this one is fairly simple, but still quite enjoyable. The controls are simple enough to master, you drive around using the directional keys, left and right to, of course, go left and right; and the up and down keys to accelerate and decelerate. You don't have to worry about shifting gears or anything, though that may have been an interesting, albeit complicated addition. You also have access to nitro, which can boost your car's speed, something you definitely want as the faster you're going, the more damage you do. And the more damage you do, the more money you get out of a round.
It's not just about ramming cars though, that would be silly and boring. You can also pick up various powerups like landmines flying from your car, sawblades jutting out of the sides of your ride, or EMP blasts that will push other cars away from you. The more rounds into the game you get, the more outrageous the levels are. While you'll start with a simple circle and other cars on the first level, you'll soon have to deal with Indiana Jones style giant balls of doom rolling around the track, massive trucks three times your size circling like vultures, and cargo planes dropping broken heaps of metal that may have once been cars onto you. All in all, a great time to be had.
As you progress in levels, you'll soon find that your car is soon outclassed. You'll eventually be able to purchase newer and better cars as you advance in the game, and each ride can in turn be upgraded with better speed, control, acceleration, and what-have-you. Be careful though, a suped up first level car can be better than a brand-new virgin level 2 car (so-to-speak) so be careful with your finances. It's a good idea to wait until you've got some serious cash before purchasing a new car, as that way you'll be able to perform upgrades right away without having to wait to earn more. On the other hand, you can always go back and do easier and simpler levels first, as there's no limit to how many times you can do each level. You could, in theory, keep grinding on the first level until you have enough money to buy every single car and powerup as they come along, but let's be honest: where's the fun in that?
So in closing, I call on you to heed the inner pyromaniac in you, the little child bent on total destruction, and go on and have a go at Smash Palace!
