BACKROOMS: Lost Tape | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary
The year is almost over and in the final days we return to the mysterious, yellow hallways of the Backrooms! This time we take a look at the indie title The Backrooms Lost Tape. In this first person adventure we arrive at level 0 and need to collect notes to figure out a code to access a computer. Soon thereafter we will visit various other levels and see both familiar and unfamiliar vistas. The game looks great and I think it runs on Unreal Engine 5. It's not the best looking Backrooms game I played, but its up there with the best of them.
In terms of gameplay I thought the exploration part in the beginning was cool and there were some pretty suspensful and mysterious sightings to behold. Unfortunately after the first level it becomes more of a walking simulator, though that is also of course what Backrooms games are known for. I think it delivers on what it is trying to achieve and creates yet another satisfying Backrooms experience for those looking for more. The one big issue I have with this game is the price, though. This game costs 14 dollars and I don't think it is worth that. I have played Backrooms games that were better for a price that was 3 times as cheap. So I would argue that this game is worth your time, but definitely wait for it to go on sale if you plan on getting it.
