Previously, the group arrives to the Temple Ruins through Mazzy's note filled with directions. All but light rests within the area and dire monsters lurked about. Exploring for a moment, they encounter a werewolf named Anath who spoke about how the shade lord not only killed her pack but also changed them to do his bidding leaving her as the remaining survivor, and even as Shadow agreed to help her, her fate was sealed when they reached the temple. Not only that, but in the midst of it all, Shadow was encountered by another nightmare. Jon Irenicus appeared to show Shadow what power he could wield if he'd just accepted his murderous godfather's divine blood and power. Will Shadow be able to quell the darkness, or will it overtake him and thus destroy him from within?
