Previously, the group manages to escape the clutches of Irenicus & Bodhi's trap once again, but Shadow and Imoen are still without their souls, and it could be only a matter of time before they either wither away or turn into their beastly avatars known as the 'Slayer'. Yoshimo died an honorable death and now its up to Shadow to decide if he was worthy enough to accept the task of putting his soul to rest by giving his heart to a temple of Ilmater. In the meantime, Saemon cuts a deal that would allow them all to leave the island, but it would involve encountering the Pirate Lord Desherik by random chance as they needed to steal a pirate ship. Upon succession, all was well, but then they were hailed by a mysterious ship piloted by a race of mummy warriors called the Githyanki. The battle was short and fierce, and was soon interrupted by fishmen called the Sahuagin. Now captured ONCE AGAIN, the group must find a way escape their watery enclave and push forward to catch up to Irenicus.
