Barrel Aged Wheatwine & Moonlighter! (Let's Drink & Play)
2It's time to get serious with a bourbon barrel aged wheatwine from Fort George Brewing! Diving deeper into Moonlighter - an addicting mashup of Zelda like dungeon crawling and Recetear like shop management! I did some delving of my own into the beer cellar, and unearthed some mighty tasty treats! These aren't for sale though, they'll be crucial magic elixirs needed to aid us on this quest!

Now onto the beer! Basically I had to end the night STRONG! So out comes a heavy hitter from Fort George - Light as a Feather bourbon barrel aged wheatwine! If you're unfamiliar with wheatwines, they're strong ales made in a style very similar to barleywines but it's made with 50% wheat malt. Think malt, caramel, dates, toffee, and other wonderful flavors that typically define an English style barleywine (one of my favorite styles). They're normally just as boozy too, especially the barrel aged offerings. Fort George is no stranger to bourbon barrels, and this beer is no slouch when it comes to ABV (it's 12%). Will it be as mighty, malty, and so smoothly refined as a well-made barleywine? OR will it drift downwards into the unwashed, bastardized American barleywine realm? Knowing Fort George and their skill with the barrel, I am leaning more towards the former. Spoiler: it's damn good!
