This is the worst version of the 4 versions of this game. I can't believe how awful this version is.

The dos version takes elements from the arcade and console versions. The arcade version has more enemies (most notable, more gun guys), and stage 2 has people in the background that throw things at you, and it does hurt you. The dos version has this.

But, the dos version also takes all the bad things from the console versions like the cut in animations, making enemies move and attack incredibly fast. One mistake, and you're dead. The enemy won't even give you one second to fire your weapon or attack.

The biggest change that only the dos version has is the change in how meter works in relation to the difficulty. In arcade, ps1, and saturn, it's suppose to be, the harder the difficulty, the faster your meter drains when you do combos. But, the dos version does the opposite. Easy drains the bar fast, while hard drains the meter slowly. Why is this bad? The faster I can deplete the meter, the faster I can go down a level, so i can pick up more bat symbols to level up more often so I can get the rng determined health refill while also destroying everyone on screen. Without being able to do this strategy, this game becomes really hard on top of an already hard game.

The dos version is no doubt the hardest of the 4 versions. And it's not the good kind of hard. It's just unbalanced and unfair, making it not a fun game to play. I doubt I will ever play this version again. I'll stick with the arcade version, the actual fun one. =)

I only 1cc'ed this for the record that I 1cc'ed all 4 versions with Batman on hard difficulty.

I stopped the recording in the middle of the credits because fraps started to make the game lag for some reason and would've continued lagging until the end of the credits, so I decided to stop the recording there.

This was played on emulator. No save states. No cheats. No tool-assists.
