This is the first mission of the Career mode of Battleships Forever, an excellent freeware game published by http://wyrdysm.com/ In the game, you take control of a flotilla of spacefaring warships. The graphics are simple, but the gameplay is complex, with positioning and micro of paramount importance.

In this first mission, we are assigned to keep watch over the trade station in Sirius Alpha while the bulk of the fleet engages the local pirates who have been causing increasing amounts of trouble lately. We must protect civilian shipping and the Sirius Alpha station.

For some reason FRAPS (what I have to use on this old computer; I bought a license way back in the day) cuts out both when transitioning between the briefing and ship selection and when the mission complete dialogue shows, so I don't get to make an outro and there's a cut in the music at the jump to ship selection. All mission content is preserved.
