Bayonetta 1 (NS): Chapter I: The Angel's Metropolis (Normal, All 8 Verses)
7Now for this game to start for real, starting with its first true Chapter.
So, after that explosive highway attack, Enzo finishes off his deal with Bayonetta and helping her regain her memories.
Enzo checked about some kind of jewel called the Right Eye, one half of the pair known as The Eyes of the World. It's been passed around throughout Europe for centuries, and its current lead is somewhere in Vigrid. Bayonetta starts her chase towards it from there!
Through Purgatorio, Bayonetta takes a train to Vigrid and makes her way through the station. But she suddenly hears a mysterious man's voice that wishes to see her awaken The Eyes of the World...

I destroyed the benches in the upper floor, because doing so causes the train to move, revealing one half of a Moon Pearl. You need two of these to make a whole one and raise your Magic Gauge.
There are also Witch Hearts to collect. If they're broken into quarters, collect 4 pieces of them to make a whole one that increases Bayonetta's health.
From this point on, Bayonetta will unleash her gigantic Wicked Weaves to finish off her combos. The fists and legs from these attacks come from a demonic woman named Madama Butterfly. She's also the wings of Bayonetta's double jump.
You can also utilize statues of a Lumen Sage and an Umbra Witch to force out a Witch Time and let Bayonetta walk on water for a few seconds.
Some weird walls need to be attacked by her before you can get through them, but they reform quickly, so act quickly.

The end of every Chapter rewards you a trophy based on the value of each Medal you won, and you win each Medal by completing Verses.
Most Verses are automatic, and involve winning battles and/or solving a puzzle or obstacle course, but some have to be searched by exploring and backtracking.
The value of your Medals from lowest to highest goes: Stone to Bronze to Silver to Gold to Platinum to Pure Platinum, and those are averaged from your skill in completing the Verse based on your Combo counter, the amount of time spent completing the Verse, and how little damage you took during the Verse. If you want a Pure Platinum Medal, each of those quotas need to Platinum, if you want a Pure Platinum trophy, all Medals in the Chapter need to be Pure Platinum.
I won't focus on that much in this playthrough, though. Instead, I'll mainly focus on showing how to get the optional Verses. Missing out on them is as bad as getting a Stone Medal from them.

Skippable Verse 3:
After hitting the strange wall to form an elevator, go back and reach a portal on the ground at 9:20. This is the first Alfheim Challenge, and it requires you to kill angels during Witch Time.
Winning an Alfheim will either earn you a Broken Witch Heart or Broken Moon Pearl. On repeats, you get an Angel Attack bullet (worth 3), instead.

Skippable Verse 5:
After Verse 4, backtrack to the makeshift elevator. There are new angels there to slay.

During the prelude to Verse 4, Bayonetta meets up with Rodin. He offers his further help to here by letting him purchase things from his Gates of Hell shop with those Halos.
In the Gates of Hell, you can by recovery items, full hearts and pearls, weapons, special accessories, special outfits (through Rodin's Treasures), and even new moves. You can even try them before you buy them!

Some angels will be towering giants, such as the Beloved that you fight in Verse 4. Take him out, and you get to unleash Bayonetta's first Umbran Climax.
She strips completely naked as she uses her hair to summon a demon to finish the poor bastard angel off. This time, Bayonetta summons Gomorrah to chow down on him!

For Verse 7, Bayonetta suddenly remembers a part of her past life, when she helped other witches try to fight an even bigger angel being.
This is an actual boss fight that you could die in. This monster eats the witches, but you gotta keep shooting at it until it leaves and Bayonetta's flashback ends.

For the last Verse, Verse 8, You have to fight another Beloved and you gotta do it fast before you lose your footing. To finish him, you summon Gomorrah again to eat it.

After beating the first Beloved at Verse 4, you get an LP disc. Bring them to Rodin in The Gates of Hell, and he'll play them on his record player. This draws out a demon deeper within Inferno/Hell for him to fight and convert into a new weapon Bayonetta can use. Some of these records will be broken apart, and you'll have to gather their pieces together.
The Trois Marches Militaires LP will convert into the Onyx Roses pistols. They're like the regular Scarborugh Fair, except they're shotguns. I'm gonna be using these a lot, and you can even buy a second pair so that Bayonetta can have them on her hands AND feet.
Try working different combinations of weapons across to sets you can customize. Some can only be wielded by her hands, while others only with her feet.
