Bayonetta 1 (NS): Intro & Records of Time: The Witch Hunts
Here's the start of another one of "sexy" playthroughs in my gaming channel. The previous ones I made gave me some leverage to do this, and I was motivated to finally start recording this franchise in anticipation for the third game!
This game is the spiritual successor to the very first Devil May Cry, and only that game, because it was the only DMC game Hideki Kamiya worked on. HOWEVER! He did take note to check out Devil May Cry 4 for some references to make this game from, so there's that.
Remember that the "NS" in each of my titles stands for "Nintendo Switch", which is the version I'm playing. Although this game was backed, published, and owned by SEGA, Nintendo's future involvement with porting the game to its consoles allowed it to have some exclusive goodies that you can't find on in any of the PC, Sony, or Microsoft versions.
Speaking of that, I first played this and beat this game on the PS3, but that version suffered from longer loading times and a sloppier framerate. It's still fully playable, though. It's just a bit more of a slog to play.

This video doesn't show off a lot, because it's still the very beginning of the game. The REAL fun starts AFTER this.
Many, MANY years ago, a strife was stirred between the Lumen Sages and the Umbra Witches, because one person from each of their sides had a child together, which was sacrilege to their communities. The witch mother was banished for eternity, while the sage father had vanished.
As for the hybrid child, she grew up, and was sealed away into a coffin at the bottom of a lake, until diver went down to check it out. A mysterious voice then awakened her, in the hopes that she will realize her full potential.
That child is now Bayonetta. The other woman in red that attempted to slay her is named Jeanne. However...
----------
After starting a New Game, you will see that Bayonetta and Jeanne are now allies, fighting against vicious angels as while standing a on piece of an Umbra Clock Tower falling hundreds of miles from the sky!
At the narrator states, the Umbra Witches and Lumen Sages used to work together to maintain the balance of the universe and themselves.
But then this all fell apart, leading to an all-out war between the two clans, ultimately leaving the Umbra Witches the victor, and the Lumen Sages were all killed. Even then, the humans of Europe feared the Witches' dark powers, and decided to commence the Witch Hunts to kill all of them, as well.
They had nearly succeed in causing the total extinction of the Umbra Witches... if there was not one more that they missed. As I've said already, this game's story is focused on that last witch...
Turning to the Present, on a huge harrier plane, something was brewing between a newer generation of Lumen followers, and sudden deaths, and the return of Jeanne...
